Purse with Flap

Materials: o       Small portion of Worsted Weight Yarn o       Size 3.75 mm or F crochet hook o       Scissors o       Yarn needle o       Stitch marker

 

Abbreviations

ch = chain

st = stitch

sc = single crochet

sts. = stitches

Base of Purse

Ch 6

Row 1: In second st from hook, sc.  Sc in next 4 sts, ch 1, turn

Row 2-3: sc across, ch 1, turn

*continuous rounds now

Ch 1 at the corner of row 3. sc around the base to begin building the purse up.  Insert a stitch marker in ch 1 if you need to.  4 continuous rows

Purse flap

On one of the long sides, sc 5.  ch 1, turn.  5 sc across, ch 1, turn for three more rows.  Fasten off.

Attach a second color if you wish to corner of flap.  Sc in first 2 sts, ch 3 (skip one st), sc in next two sts.  Fasten off.

Strap

Attach yarn at the corner.  Ch 20.  Attach to opposite side with a sl st.  Fasten off.

Finishing

With a yarn needle, attach a button to the middle of the purse. 

Weave in all ends.
