ch = chain
·
sc = single crochet
·
sts = stitches

sl st = slip stitch

inc = increase

dec = decrease

sc2tog = single crochet 2 stitches

This pattern is worked in a continuous round. Do not create
rows.
The egg is a little difficult if you are not use to working with smaller crochet with doll making.
Basket
Base
Ch 2
Round 1: In second st from hook, 6 sc, pull tail tightly and
weave in as you crochet
Round 2: 2 sc in each st
Round 3: *2 sc, sc around (known as increase or inc)
Round 4: In back st only, sc around, sl st to beginning st
Side
Round 5-7: ch 1, sc around
Round 8: sl st around
Do not fasten off
Handle
Once you reach the first sl st of round 8, ch 16 and sl st
to opposite side. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Egg
Ch 2
Round 1: In second st from hook, 4 sc
Round 2: 2 sc, sc in next 3 sts
Round 3: sc around
Round 4: dec (sc2tog) twice
Fasten off. Using tail, sew the end together and weave in.
Use your fingers to shape it like an egg.
Let your imagination out when you use colors for the egg and
basket. Add flowers. Use pastels. Both of these items are great scrap busters!
